Overview
ALS Tape supplies 3M VHB (Very High Bond) tape for industrial mounting, panel assembly, enclosure bonding, and die-cut fabricated parts. VHB is a double-coated closed-cell acrylic foam tape that distributes stress across the bond area, resists environmental degradation, and eliminates the appearance of mechanical fasteners in finished assemblies. Firm foam grades (4611, 4646, 4655) handle high-load industrial joints with temperature resistance up to 450°F (232°C) short-term. Conformable foam grades (4618, 4622, 4624) follow irregular surfaces and mixed-material interfaces with flexibility in the foam structure. Low-surface-energy grades (4932, 4952) bond directly to powder coatings, polyolefins, and other difficult substrates without surface preparation or primers. Modified acrylic grades (5925, 5952, 5962) offer improved peel performance for demanding conformable applications. Most grades carry UL 746C listing (File MH17478). ALS Tape can slit, laminate, and rotary die-cut VHB materials into production-ready formats.

Replaces Mechanical Fasteners — Eliminates drilling, riveting, and visible hardware. Load-bearing acrylic foam distributes stress across the bond zone for a cleaner finished assembly.
Firm vs Conformable Foam — Firm grades (4611/4646/4655) for flat rigid surfaces and high-load joints; conformable grades (4618/4622/4624) for curved, irregular, or mixed-material interfaces.
High-Temperature Resistance — Firm dark gray grades withstand up to 450°F (232°C) short-term; standard white grades rated to 300°F (149°C).
Low Surface Energy (LSE) Option — 4932 and 4952 grades bond powder coatings, polypropylene, and polyethylene surfaces without primers or surface treatment.
UL 746C Listed — Most firm acrylic foam grades carry UL 746C certification (File MH17478) for electrical equipment and enclosure applications.
Converting Support — Available as slit rolls, custom widths, and precision rotary die-cut parts for assembly-ready formats.
