Overview
ALS Tape supplies 3M industrial masking tapes across a structured five-tier performance system, from general-purpose light-duty through high-temperature paint-bake grades. Crepe paper grades (101+ through 501+) cover temperature requirements from 150°F (66°C) for general indoor light-duty use up to 300°F (149°C) for automotive oven bake cycles and multi-bake processes. The 501+ grade meets ASTM D 6123 specification and removes cleanly in one piece from metal, rubber, glass, and plastic after bake cycles without adhesive residue. Fine Line masking tape (4737T, vinyl backing with rubber adhesive) is designed for automotive fascia panels, two-tone paint applications, and other processes requiring sharp, critical paint break lines — it conforms tightly to curved surfaces without edge lifting, rated to 300°F (149°C). Specialty acrylic flatback grade (2460) offers 21-day outdoor exposure capability with paint bake resistance up to 300°F. All crepe paper grades provide instant adhesion on contact, controlled unwind, easy hand tear, and conformability to irregular surfaces.
